LaTisha "Tish" Brunson is from the east side of Pine Bluff. She and her siblings were raised there, in Ward 1. Her parents were raised in Ward 1. And now, she's raising her own children in Ward 1 too — a family legacy of home, roots, and commitment that now spans four generations.

Her grandmother worked as a custodian in Tish's own high school, with an eighth grade education. Her other grandparents were a homemaker and a sharecropper. Tish carries that history with her every day — and believes she is living out their wildest dreams, with opportunities they never had in their lifetime.

That's why this work isn't a task for Tish. It's personal. These are people she knows. These are people her parents knew. She sees her service to Ward 1 not as a job, but as a movement — a statement of honor and privilege that she never takes lightly. Every decision she makes isn't about her. It's about the people she serves.

Tish was raised and educated right here in Pine Bluff — kindergarten through college, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1998 and from the University of Arkansas in 2002 with a degree in Agricultural Business.

Tish brings over 20 years of Human Resources leadership across corporate, manufacturing, higher education, and nonprofit sectors, including roles at Walmart, Cargill, the University of Arkansas system, and as HR Director at UAPB. In 2024, she made the decision to bring that experience directly to the community — stepping into full-time advocacy and public service.

She went on to earn a Master of Engineering from the University of Arkansas system, and completed her Master of Science in Public Service from the Clinton School of Public Service in May 2026.

Today, Tish serves as Ward 1 City Councilmember and as Community Coordinator for Zero to Three–Safe Babies in Jefferson County — work rooted in the same belief that's guided her whole life: Pine Bluff's people deserve leaders who show up, listen, and get things done.
